King James (1611)
3:1 And I, brethren, might not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to fleshly; as to little children in Christ, And I could not speak unto you brethren as unto spiritual: but as unto carnal, even as it were unto babes in Christ. And I could not speak unto you, brethren, as unto spiritual men, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
3:2 I gave to you milk to drink, not meat; for ye might not yet understand, but neither now soothly ye be able, I gave you milk to drink and not meat. For ye then were not strong, no neither yet are strong. I gave you milk to drink, & not meat: for ye were not yet able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
3:3 for yet ye be fleshly. For while envy and strife is among you, whether ye be not fleshly, and ye go after man? For ye are yet carnal. As long verily as there is among you envying, strife, and dissension: are ye not carnal, and walk after the manner of men? For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
3:4 For when some saith, I am of Paul, another forsooth, I am of Apollos, whether ye be not fleshly men? As long as one saith: I hold of Paul, and another, I am of apollo. are ye not carnal? For when one saith, I am Paul’s, and another, I am Apollos’, are ye not carnal? For while one saith, I am of Paul, and another, I am of Apollo, are ye not carnal?
3:5 What therefore is Apollos, and what Paul? They be ministers of him, to whom ye have believed; and to each man as God hath given. What is Paul? what thing is apollo? but ministers by whom ye believed even as the lord gave every man grace. Who is Paul then? and who is Apollos, but the ministers by whom ye believed, & as the Lord gave to every man? Who then is Paul? and who is Apollo? but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man.
3:6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave increasing. I have planted: Apollo watered: but god gave increase. I have planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. I have planted, Apollo watered: but God gave the increase.
3:7 And so neither he that planteth is any thing, neither he that moisteth, but God that giveth increasing. So then, neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth: but god which gave the increase. So then, neither is he that planteth, any thing, neither he that watereth, but God that giveth the increase. So then, neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth: but God that giveth the increase.
3:8 And he that planteth, and he that moisteth, be one; and each shall take his own meed, after his travail. He that planteth, and he that watereth, are neither better than the other. Every man yet shall receive his reward according to his labour. And he that planteth, & he that watereth, are one, and every man shall receive his wages, according to his labour. Now he that planteth, and he that watereth, are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
3:9 For we be the helpers of God; ye be the earth-tilling of God, ye be the building of God. We are god’s labourers: ye are god’s husbandry, ye are god’s building. For we together are God’s labourers: ye are God’s husbandry, and God’s building. For we are labourers together with God, ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
3:10 After the grace of God that is given to me, as a wise master carpenter I set the foundament; and another buildeth above. But each man see, how and what things he buildeth upon. According to the grace of god given unto me, as a wise builder have I laid the foundation, another hath built thereon: but let every man take heed how he buildeth upon. According to the grace of God given to me, as a skillful master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon: but let every man take heed how he buildeth upon it. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
3:11 For no man may set another foundament, besides that that is set, which is Christ Jesus. For other foundation can no man lay, than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. For other foundation can no man lay, than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. For other foundation can no man lay, than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
3:12 Forsooth if any man build upon this foundament, gold, silver, precious stones, sticks, hay, stubble, If any man build on this foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, timber, hay, or stubble: And if any man build on this foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, timber, hay, or stubble, Now if any man build upon this foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble:
3:13 every man’s work shall be open; for the day of the Lord shall declare, for it shall be shewed in fire; the fire shall prove the work of each man, what manner it is. every man’s work shall appear. for the day shall declare it, and it shall be shewed in fire, and the fire shall try every man’s work what it is. Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by the fire: & the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. Every man’s work shall be made manifest. For the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire, and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
3:14 If the work of any man dwell still, which he builded upon, he shall receive meed. If any man’s work that he hath built upon, bide, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work, that he hath built upon, abide, he shall receive wages. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
3:15 If any man’s work shall burn, he shall suffer impairing; but he shall be safe, so nevertheless as by fire. If any man’s work burn, he shall suffer loss: but he shall be safe himself. nevertheless yet as it were through fire. If any man’s work burn, he shall lose, but he shall be safe himself: nevertheless yet as it were by the fire. If any man’s work shall be burnt, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved: yet so, as by fire.
3:16 Know ye not, that ye be the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? Are ye not ware that ye are the temple of god, and how that the spirit of god dwelleth in you? Know ye not that ye are the Temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? Know ye not that ye are the Temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
3:17 And if any man defouleth the temple of God, God shall lose him; for the temple of God is holy, which ye be. If any man defile the temple of god, him shall god destroy. For the temple of God is holy, which temple are ye. If any man destroy the Temple of God, him shall God destroy: for the Temple of God is holy, which ye are. If any man defile the Temple of God, him shall God destroy: for the Temple of God is holy, which Temple ye are.
3:18 No man deceive himself. If any man among you is seen to be wise in this world, be he made a fool, that he be wise. Let no man deceive himself, if any man seem wise among you, let him be a fool in this world, that he may be wise. Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seem to be wise in this world, let him be a fool, that he may be wise. Let no man deceive himself: If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
3:19 For the wisdom of this world is folly with God; for it is written, I shall catch wise men in their fell wisdom; For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written: He compasseth the wise in their craftiness. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God: for it is written, He catcheth the wise in their own craftiness. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God: for it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
3:20 and again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of wise men, for they be vain. And again, God knoweth the thoughts of the wise that they be vain. And again, The Lord knoweth that the thoughts of the wise be vain. And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
3:21 And so no man glory in men. For all things be yours, Therefore let no man rejoice in men. For all things are yours, Therefore let no man rejoice in men: for all things are yours. Therefore let no man glory in men, for all things are yours.
3:22 either Paul, either Apollos, either Cephas, either the world, either life, either death, either things present, either things to come; for all things be yours, whether it be Paul, other Apollo, either Cephas: whether it be the world, other life. other death, whether they be present things or things to come: all are yours, Whether it be Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death: whether they be things present, or things to come, even all are yours, Whether Paul, or Apollo, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come, all are yours.
3:23 and ye be of Christ, and Christ is of God. and ye are Christ’s, and Christ is god’s. And ye Christ’s, and Christ God’s. And ye are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.
