1:1 Paul, the apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, after the promise of life that is in Christ Jesus, Paul an Apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of god, to preach the promise of life, which life is in Christ Jesus. Paul an Apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, according to the promise of life, which is in CHRIST JESUS, Paul an Apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life, which is in Christ Jesus,
1:2 to Timothy, his most dear-worthy son, grace, mercy, and peace of God the Father, and Jesus Christ, our Lord. To Timothe his beloved son Grace, mercy, and peace, from god the father, and from Jesus Christ our lord. To Timotheus my beloved son: Grace, mercy, & peace from God the Father, & from Jesus Christ our Lord. To Timothie, my dearly beloved son: grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father, and Christ Jesus our Lord.
1:3 I do thankings to my God, to whom I serve from my progenitors in clean conscience, that without ceasing I have mind of thee in my prayers, night and day, I thank god, whom I serve from mine elders with pure conscience, that without ceasing I make mention of thee in my prayers night and day, I thank God, whom I serve from mine elders with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day, I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day,
1:4 desiring to see thee; having mindful of thy tears, that I be filled with joy. desiring to see thee, mindful of thy tears: so that I am filled with joy, Desiring to see thee, mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy: Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy,
1:5 And I take recording of that faith, that is in thee not feigned, which also dwelled first in thine aunt Lois, and in thy mother Eunice. And I am certain, that also in thee. when I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and in thy mother Eunica: and am assured that it dwelleth in thee also. When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and in thy mother Eunice, & am assured that it dwelleth in thee also. When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice: and I am persuaded that in thee also.
1:6 For which cause I admonish thee, that thou raise again the grace of God, that is in thee by the on-putting of mine hands. Wherefore I warn thee that thou stir up the gift of god which is in thee, by the putting on of my hands. Wherefore, I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God which is in thee, by the putting on of mine hands. Wherefore I put thee in remembrance, that thou stir up the gift of God which is in thee, by the putting on of my hands.
1:7 Soothly God gave not to us the spirit of dread, but of virtue, and of love, and of soberness. For god hath not given to us the spirit of fear: but of power, and of love, and of honest behaviour. For God hath not given to us the Spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind.
1:8 Therefore do not thou shame the witnessing of our Lord Jesus Christ, neither me, his prisoner; but travail thou together in the gospel after the virtue of God; Be not ashamed to testify our lord, neither be ashamed of me, which am bound for his sake: but suffer adversity with the gospel also through the power of god, Be not therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, neither of me his prisoner: but be partaker of the afflictions of the Gospel, according to the power of God, Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the Gospel according to the power of God,
1:9 that delivered us, and called with this holy calling, not after our works, but after his purpose and grace, that is given to us in Christ Jesus before worldly times; which saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not after our deeds, but for his purpose and grace, which grace was given us through Christ Jesus before the world was, Who hath saved us, & called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose & grace, which was given to us through Christ Jesus before the world was, Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus, before the world began,
1:10 now forsooth it is open by the lighting of our Saviour Jesus Christ, the which soothly destroyed death, forsooth lighted life and uncorruption by the gospel. but is now declared openly by the appearing of our saviour Jesus Christ, which hath put away death, and hath brought life and immortality unto light through the gospel, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality unto light through the Gospel. But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light, through the Gospel:
1:11 In which I am set a preacher and apostle, and master of heathen men. whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an Apostle, and a teacher of the gentiles: Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, & Apostle, & a teacher of the Gentiles. Whereunto I am appointed a Preacher, and an Apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
1:12 For which cause also I suffer these things; but I am not confounded. For I know to whom I have believed, and I am certain that he is mighty to keep that is taken to my keeping into that day. for the which cause I also suffer this. nevertheless I am not ashamed. For I know whom I have believed, and am sure that he is able keep that which I have committed to his keeping against that day. For the which cause I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, & I am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed to him against that day. For the which cause I also suffer these things; nevertheless, I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
1:13 Have thou the form of whole words, which thou heardest of me in faith and love in Christ Jesus. See thou have the ensample of the wholesome words which thou heardest of me, in faith and love which is in Jesus Christ. Keep the true pattern of the wholesome words, which thou hast heard of me in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love, which is in Christ Jesus.
1:14 Keep thou a good deposit, by the Holy Ghost, that dwelleth in us. That good thing which was committed to thy keeping, keep in the holy ghost which dwelleth in us. That worthy thing, which was committed to thee, keep through the holy Ghost, which dwelleth in us. That good thing which was committed unto thee, keep, by the holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.
1:15 Thou knowest this, that all that be in Asia be turned away from me, of whom is Phygellus and Hermogenes. This thou knowest how that all they which are in Asia be turned from me. of which sort are Phygellos and Hermogenes. This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia, be turned from me: of which sort are Phygellus and Hermogenes. This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me, of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.
1:16 The Lord give mercy to the house of Onesiphorus, for oft he refreshed me, and shamed not my chain. the Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphoros, for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain: The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus: for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain. The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus, for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain.
1:17 But when he came to Rome, he sought me busily, and found me. but when he was at Rome he sought me out very diligently, and found me. But when he was at Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me. But when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me.
1:18 The Lord give to him to find mercy of God in that day. And how great things he ministered to me at Ephesus, thou knowest better. The lord grant unto him that he may find mercy with the lord at that day. And in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus thou knowest very well. The Lord grant unto him, that he may find mercy with the Lord at that day, & in how many things he hath ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well. The Lord grant unto him, that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day: And in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.
