King James (1611)
6:1 After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, that is Tiberias. After that went Jesus his way over the sea of galile nigh to a city called Tiberias. After these things, Jesus went his way over the sea of Galile, or of Tiberius. After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias:
6:2 And a great multitude followed him; for they saw the tokens, that he did on them that were sick. And a great multitude followed him, because they had seen the miracles that he did on them which were diseased. And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles, which he did on them that were diseased. And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.
6:3 Therefore Jesus went into an hill, and there he sat with his disciples. Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples Then Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples. And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.
6:4 And the pask was full nigh, a feast day of the Jews. (And easter a feast of the jews, was nigh) Now the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was near. And the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.
6:5 Therefore when Jesus had lifted up his eyes, and had seen, that a great multitude came to him, he saith to Philip, Whereof shall we buy loaves, that these men eat? Then Jesus lift up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, and said unto Philip: whence shall we buy bread that these might eat: Then JESUS lift up his eyes, and seeing that a great multitude came unto him, he said unto Philippe, Whence shall we buy bread, that these might eat? When Jesus then lift up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?
6:6 But he said this thing, tempting him; for he knew what he was to do. This he said to prove him. For he himself knew what he would do. (And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do) (And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do)
6:7 Philip answered to him, The loaves of two hundred pence suffice not to them, that each man take a little what. Philip answered him, two hundred pennyworth of bread are not sufficient for them, that every man have a little. Philippe answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little. Philip answered him, Two hundred penny-worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
6:8 One of his disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, saith to him, Then said unto him, one of his disciples (Andrew Simon Peter’s brother) Then said unto him one of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him,
6:9 A child is here, that hath five barley loaves and two fishes; but what be these among so many? There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two fishes: but what is that among so many? There is a little boy here, which hath five barley loaves, and two fishes: but what are they among so many? There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?
6:10 Therefore Jesus saith, Make ye men to sit at the meat. And there was much hay in the place. Therefore men sat at the meat, in number as five thousand. Jesus said: Make the people to sit down. (There was much grass in the place) And the men sat down, in number, about five thousand. And Jesus said, Make the people sit down. (Now there was much grass in that place) Then the men sat down in number, about five thousand. And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.
6:11 And Jesus took the five loaves, and when he had done thankings, he parted to men sitting at the meat, and also of the fishes, as much as they would. Jesus took the bread, and gave thanks, and gave to his disciples, and his disciples, to them that were set down. And likewise of the fishes, as much as they would. And Jesus took the bread, and gave thanks, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down: & likewise of the fishes as much as they would. And Jesus took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down, and likewise of the fishes, as much as they would.
6:12 And when they were filled, he said to his disciples, Gather ye the reliefs that be left, that they perish not. When they had eaten enough, he said unto his disciples: gather up the broken meat that remaineth: that nothing be lost. And when they were satisfied, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the broken meat which remaineth, that nothing be lost. When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.
6:13 Therefore they gathered, and filled twelve coffins of reliefs of the five barley loaves and two fishes, that left to them that had eaten. They gathered it together, and filled twelve baskets with the broken meat, of the five barley loaves, which broken meat remained unto them that had eaten. Then they gathered it together, and filled twelve baskets with the broken meat of the five barley loaves, which remained unto them that had eaten. Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above, unto them that had eaten.
6:14 Therefore those men, when they had seen the token that he had done, said, For this is verily the prophet, that is to come into the world. Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said: This is of a truth the same prophet which shall come into the world. Then the men when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth the Prophet that should come into the world. Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that Prophet that should come into the world.
6:15 Therefore when Jesus had known, that they were to come that they should snatch him, and make him king, he alone fled again into an hill. Jesus knew well enough, that they would come, and take him up, to make him king: and therefore departed he again, into a mountain, himself alone. When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come, and take him to make him a King, he departed again into a mountain himself alone. When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a King, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.
6:16 Soothly as even was made, his disciples went down to the sea. When even was come his disciples went unto the sea, When even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea, And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea,
6:17 And they went up into a boat, and they came over the sea into Capernaum. And darknesses were now made, and Jesus had not come to them. and entered into a ship. And went over the sea unto capernaum. And anon it was dark, and Jesus was not come to them. And entered into a ship, and went over the sea towards Capernaum: and now it was dark, & Jesus was not come to them. And entered into a ship, and went over the sea towards Capernaum: and it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.
6:18 And for a great wind blew, the sea rose up. And the sea arose with a great wind. And the sea arose with a great wind that blew. And the sea arose, by reason of a great wind that blew.
6:19 Therefore when they had rowed as five and twenty furlongs or thirty, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and to be nigh the boat; and they dreaded. when they had rowed about a twenty five or a thirty furlongs, they saw Jesus walk on the sea, and to draw nigh unto the ship, and they were afraid. And when they had rowed about five & twenty, or thirty furlongs, they saw Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing near unto the ship: so they were afraid. So when they had rowed about five and twenty, or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.
6:20 And he said to them, I am; do not ye dread. He said unto them: It is I, be not afraid. But he said unto them, It is I: be not afraid. But he saith unto them, It is I, be not afraid.
6:21 Therefore they would take him into the boat, and anon the boat was at the land, to which they went. Then would they have received him into the ship, and the ship was by and by at the land whither they went. Then willingly they received him into the ship, and the ship was by and by at the land, whether they went. Then they willingly received him into the ship, and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.
6:22 On the tother day the people, that stood over the sea, saw, that there was none other boat there but that one, and that Jesus entered not with his disciples into the boat, but his disciples went alone. The day following, the people which stood on the other side of the sea, saw that there was none other ship there save that one wherein his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not in with them into the ship: but that his disciples were gone away alone The day following, the people which stood on the other side of the sea, saw that there was none other ship there, save that one, whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples in the ship, but that his disciples were gone alone, The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea, saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were gone away alone:
6:23 But other boats came from Tiberias beside the place, where they ate bread, and did thankings to God. (There came other ships from Tiberias nigh unto the place, where they ate bread, when the lord had blessed) And that there came other ships from Tiberius near unto the place where they ate the bread, after the Lord had given thanks. Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias, nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:
6:24 Therefore when the people had seen, that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they went up into boats, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus. Then when the people saw that Jesus was not there neither his disciples, They also took shipping and came to Capernaum seeking for Jesus. Now when the people saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, & came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus. When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.
6:25 And when they had found him over the sea, they said to him, Rabbi, how camest thou hither? And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him: Master when camest thou hither? And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither? And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?
6:26 Jesus answered to them, and said, Truly, truly, I say to you, ye seek me, not for ye saw the miracles, but for ye ate of the loaves, and were filled. Jesus answered them and said: verily verily I say unto you: ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles: but because ye ate of the bread, and were filled. Jesus answered them, and said, Verily, verily I say unto you, ye seek me not, because ye saw the miracles, but because ye ate of the loaves, and were filled. Jesus answered them, and said, Verily, verily I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.
6:27 Work ye not meat that perisheth, but that that dwelleth into everlasting life, which meat man’s Son shall give to you; for God the Father hath marked him. Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for the meat that endureth unto everlasting life, which meat the son of man shall give unto you. For him hath god the father sealed. Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for the meat that endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
6:28 Therefore they said to him, What shall we do, that we work the works of God? Then said they unto him: what shall we do that we might work the works of god? Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
6:29 Jesus answered, and said to them, This is the work of God, that ye believe to him, whom he sent. Jesus answered and said unto them: This is the work of god, that ye believe on him, whom he hath sent. Jesus answered, & said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe in him, whom he hath sent. Jesus answered, and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
6:30 Therefore they said to him, What token then doest thou, that we see, and believe to thee? what workest thou? They said unto him: what sign shewest thou then? that we may see and believe thee. What dost thou work? They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see it, and believe thee? what dost thou work? They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? What dost thou work?
6:31 Our fathers ate manna in desert, as it is written, He gave to them bread from heaven to eat. our fathers did eat manna in the desert, as it is written: He gave them bread from heaven to eat. Our fathers did eat Manna in the desert, as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. Our fathers did eat Manna in the desert, as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
6:32 Therefore Jesus saith to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Moses gave you not bread from heaven, but my Father giveth you very bread from heaven; Jesus said unto them: verily verily I say unto you: Moses gave you not bread from heaven: but my father giveth you the true bread from heaven. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily I say unto you, Moses gave you not bread from heaven, but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven, but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
6:33 for it is very bread that cometh down from heaven, and giveth life to the world. For he is the bread of God, which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
6:34 Therefore they said to him, Lord, evermore give to us this bread. Then said they unto him: Master evermore give us this bread. Then they said unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
6:35 And Jesus said to them, I am bread of life; he that cometh to me, shall not hunger; and he that believeth in me, shall never thirst. And Jesus said unto them: I am that bread of life. He that cometh to me, shall not hunger: and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me, shall not hunger, and he that believeth in me, shall never thirst. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me, shall never hunger: and he that believeth on me, shall never thirst.
6:36 But I said to you, for and ye have seen me, and believed not. But I said unto you: that ye have seen me, and yet believe ye not. But I said unto you, that ye also have seen me, and believe not. But I said unto you, that ye also have seen me, and believe not.
6:37 All thing, that the Father giveth to me, shall come to me; and I shall not cast out him, that cometh to me. All that my father giveth me, cometh to me: and him that cometh to me, cast I not out at the doors. All that the Father giveth me, shall come to me: and him that cometh to me, I cast not away. All that the Father giveth me, shall come to me; and him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out.
6:38 For I came down from heaven, not that I do my will, but the will of him that sent me. For I came down from heaven: not to do mine own will: but his will which hath sent me. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but his will which hath sent me. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
6:39 And this is the will of the Father that sent me, that all things that the Father gave to me, I lose nought of it, but again-raise it in the last day. And this is my father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me, I should lose nothing: but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me, I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me, I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
6:40 And this is the will of my Father that sent me, that each man that seeth the Son, and believeth in him, have everlasting life; and I shall again-raise him in the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, That every man which seeth the son, And believeth on him, have everlasting life. And I will raise him up at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every man which seeth the Son, & believeth in him, should have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
6:41 Therefore Jews grutched of him, for he said, I am bread that came down from heaven. The jews murmured at it, because he said: I am that bread which is come down from heaven. The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread, which is come down from heaven. The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.
6:42 And they said, Whether this is not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we have known. Therefore how saith he this, I came down from heaven? And they said: Is not this Jesus the son of Joseph, whose father, and mother we know? How is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven? And they said, Is not this Jesus the son of Joseph, whose father & mother we know? how then saith he, I came down from heaven? And they said, Is not this Jesus the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?
6:43 Therefore Jesus answered, and said to them, Do not ye grutch together. Jesus answered and said unto them: Murmur not between yourselves. Jesus then answered, & said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves. Jesus therefore answered, and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.
6:44 No man may come to me, no but the Father that sent me, draw him; and I shall again-raise him in the last day. No man can come to me except my father which hath sent me, draw him. And I will raise him up at the last day. No man can come to me, except the Father, which hath sent me, draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me, draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
6:45 It is written in the prophets, And all men shall be able to be taught of God. Each man that hath heard of the Father, and hath learned, cometh to me. It is written in the prophets: And they shall all be taught of God. Every man which hath heard, and learned of the father, cometh unto me, It is written in the Prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, & hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me, It is written in the Prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me,
6:46 Not for any man hath seen the Father, but this that is of God, hath seen the Father. not that any man hath seen the father, save he which is of God. The same hath seen the father. Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. Not that any man hath seen the Father; save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.
6:47 Soothly, soothly, I say to you, he that believeth in me, hath everlasting life. Verily verily I say unto you, he that believeth on me hath everlasting life. Verily, verily I say unto you, He that believeth in me, hath everlasting life. Verily, verily I say unto you, He that believeth on me, hath everlasting life.
6:48 I am the bread of life. I am that bread of life. I am the bread of life. I am that bread of life.
6:49 Your fathers ate manna in desert, and be dead. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. Your fathers did eat Manna in the wilderness, and are dead. Your fathers did eat Manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
6:50 This is bread coming down from heaven, that if any man shall eat thereof, he die not. This is that bread which cometh from heaven, that he which of it eateth, should also not die. This is the bread, which cometh down from heaven, that he which eateth of it, should not die. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
6:51 I am living bread, that came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live without end. And the bread that I shall give, is my flesh for the life of the world. I am that living bread which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever. And the bread that I will give, is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. I am the living bread, which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. I am the living bread, which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
6:52 Therefore the Jews chided together, and saying, How may this give to us his flesh to eat? The jews strove among themselves saying: How can this fellow give us his flesh to eat? Then the Jews strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? The Jews therefore strove amongst themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
6:53 Therefore Jesus saith to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, but ye eat the flesh of man’s Son, and drink his blood, ye shall not have life in you. Jesus said unto them: Verily, verily I say unto you, except ye eat the flesh of the son of man, and drink his blood, ye shall not have life in you. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
6:54 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath everlasting life, and I shall again-raise him in the last day. Whosoever eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, the same hath eternal life: And I will raise him up at the last day. Whosoever eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
6:55 For my flesh is very meat, and my blood is very drink. For my flesh is meat indeed: and my blood is drink indeed. For my flesh is meat indeed, & my blood is drink indeed. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
6:56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me and I in him. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
6:57 As my Father living sent me, and I live for the Father, and he that eateth me, he shall live for me. As my living father hath sent me, even so live I by my father: and he that eateth me, shall live by me. As the living Father hath sent me, so live I by the Father, and he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so, he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
6:58 This is bread, that came down from heaven. Not as your fathers ate manna, and be dead; he that eateth this bread, shall live without end. This is the bread which came from heaven: Not as your fathers have eaten manna and are dead. He that eateth of this bread, shall live ever. This is the bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers have eaten Manna, and are dead. He that eateth of this bread, shall live for ever. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat Manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread, shall live for ever.
6:59 He said these things in the synagogue, teaching in Capernaum. These things said he in the synagogue as he taught in capernaum. These things spake he in the Synagogue as he taught in Capernaum. These things said he in the Synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.
6:60 Therefore many of his disciples hearing this, said, This word is hard, who may hear it? Many of his disciples, when they had heard this, said: this is an hard saying. Who can abide the hearing of it? Many therefore of his disciples (when they heard this) said, This is an hard saying: who can hear it? Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying, who can hear it?
6:61 Forsooth Jesus witting with himself, for his disciples grutched of this thing, said to them, This thing offendeth you? Jesus knew in himself, that his disciples murmured at it, and said unto them: Doth this offend you? But Jesus knowing in himself, that his disciples murmured at this, said unto them, Doth this offend you? When Jesus knew in himself, that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?
6:62 Therefore if ye shall see man’s Son ascending up, where he was before? what and if ye shall see the son of man ascend up where he was before? What then if ye should see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? What and if ye shall see the son of man ascend up where he was before?
6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth, the flesh profiteth nothing; the words that I have spoken to you, be spirit and life. It is the spirit that quickeneth, the flesh profiteth nothing. The words that I speak unto you are spirit and life. It is the Spirit that quickeneth: the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, are spirit and life. It is the Spirit that quickeneth, the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are life.
6:64 But there be some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning, which were believing, and who was to betray him. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning, which they were that believed not. And who should betray him. But there are some of you that believe not: for Jesus knew from the beginning, which they were that believed not, & who should betray him. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning, who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.
6:65 And he said, Therefore I said to you, that no man may come to me, but it were given to him of my Father. And he said: Therefore said I unto you: that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my father. And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it be given unto him of my Father. And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
6:66 From this time many of his disciples went aback, and went not now with him. From that time many of his disciples went a way from him, and companied no more with him. From that time, many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
6:67 Therefore Jesus said to the twelve, Whether ye will also go away? Then said Jesus to the twelve: will ye also go away? Then said Jesus to the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?
6:68 And Simon Peter answered to him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast words of everlasting life; Simon Peter answered him: Master to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life, Then Simon Peter answered him, Master to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life: Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life.
6:69 and we have believed, and know, that thou art Christ, the Son of God. And we have believed, and known, that thou art Christ the son of the living God. And we believe and know that thou art the Christ the Son of the living God. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.
6:70 Therefore Jesus answered to them, Whether I chose not you twelve, and one of you is a devil? Jesus answered them: Have not I chosen you twelve? And yet one of you is the devil? Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve and one of you is a devil? Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?
6:71 And he said this of Judas of Simon Iscariot, for this was to betray him, when he was one of the twelve. He spake it of Judas iscariot the son of Simon. For he it was that should betray him, and was one of the twelve. Now he spake it of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, though he was one of the twelve. He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.
