11:1 And it was done, when Jesus had ended, he, commanding to his twelve disciples, passed from thence to teach and preach in the cities of them. And it came to pass when Jesus had ended his precepts unto his disciples, he departed thence, to preach and teach in their cities. And it came to pass that when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities. And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve Disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.
11:2 But when John in bonds had heard the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, When Jhon being in prison heard the works of christ, he sent two of his disciples And when John heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,
11:3 and said to him, Art thou he that shall come, or abide we another? and said unto him. Art thou he that shall come: or shall we look for another. and said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or shall we look for another? And said unto him, Art thou he that should come? Or do we look for another?
11:4 And Jesus answering, said to them, Ye going tell again to John those things which ye have heard and seen. Jesus answered and said unto them. Go and shew Jhon what ye have heard and seen. And Jesus answering, said unto them, Go, and shew John, what things ye have heard and seen. Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:
11:5 Blind men see, crooked men wander, mesels be made clean, deaf men hear, dead men rise again, poor men be preached the gospel. The blind see, the halt go, the lepers are cleansed: The deaf hear, the dead are raised up again, and the gospel is preached to the poor. The blind receive sight, & the halt go: the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear: the dead are raised up, and the poor receive the Gospel. The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the Gospel preached to them.
11:6 And he is blessed, that shall not be offended in me. And happy is he that is not hurt by me. And blessed is he that shall not be offended in me. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
11:7 And when they were gone away, Jesus began to say of John to the companies, What thing went ye out into desert to see? a reed waved with the wind? Even as they departed, Jesus began to speak unto the people of Jhon. What went ye for to see in the wilderness? went ye out to see a reed wavering with the wind? And as they departed, Jesus began to speak unto the multitude, of John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind? And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? a reed shaken with the wind?
11:8 But what thing went ye out to see? whether a man clothed with soft clothings? Lo! they that be clothed with soft clothes be in the houses of kings. other what went ye out for to see? went ye to see a man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses. But what went ye out to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they that wear soft clothing, are in Kings’ houses. But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they that wear soft clothing, are in kings’ houses.
11:9 But what thing went ye out to see? a prophet? Yea, I say to you, and more than a prophet. But what went ye out for to see? went ye out to see a prophet? Yea I say unto you, and more than a prophet. But what went ye out to see? A Prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and more than a Prophet. But what went ye out for to see? A Prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a Prophet.
11:10 For this is he, of whom it is written, Lo! I send mine angel before thy face, which shall make ready thy way before thee. For this is he of whom it is written. Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. For this is he of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. For this is he of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
11:11 Truly I say to you, none rose greater than John Baptist among the sons of women; forsooth he that is the least in the kingdom of heavens, is more than he. Verify I say unto you, among the children of women arose there not a greater than Jhon baptist. Notwithstanding he that is less in the kingdom of heaven, is greater than he. Verily I say unto you, among them which are begotten of women, arose there not a greater than John Baptist: notwithstanding, he that is the least in the kingdom of heaven, is greater than he. Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women, there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding, he that is least in the kingdom of heaven, is greater than he.
11:12 And from the days of John Baptist till now the kingdom of heavens suffereth violence, and violent men snatch it. From the time of Jhon baptist hitherto, the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and they that make violence pull it unto them. And from the time of John Baptist hitherto, the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. And from the days of John the Baptist, until now, the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
11:13 For all the prophets and the law till John prophesied; For all the prophets, & the law prophesied unto the time of Jhon. For all the Prophets & the Law prophesied unto John. For all the Prophets, and the Law prophesied until John.
11:14 and if ye will receive, he is Helias that is to come. Also if ye will receive it, this is Helias, which should come. And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was to come. And if ye will receive it, this is Elias which was for to come.
11:15 He that hath ears of hearing, hear he. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
11:16 But to whom shall I guess this generation like? It is like to children sitting in the market, which, crying to their peers, But whereunto shall I liken this generation? it is like unto children, which sit in the market, and call unto their fellows, But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto little children which sit in the markets, and call unto their fellows, But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children, sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,
11:17 say, We have sung to you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wailed. and say: we have piped unto you, and ye have not danced We have mourned unto you, and ye have not sorrowed. And say, We have piped unto you, & ye have not danced, we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented. And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced: we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.
11:18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil. For Jhon came neither eating nor drinking, and they say he hath the devil. For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil. For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.
11:19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Lo! a man a glutton, and a drinker of wine, and friend of publicans and sinful men. And wisdom is justified of her sons. The son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, behold a glutton, and a drinker of wine, and a friend unto publicans, and sinners. And wisdom is justified of her children. The Son of man came eating & drinking, and they say, Behold a glutton & a drinker of wine, a friend unto Publicans & sinners: but wisdom is justified of her children. The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a wine bibber, a friend of publicans and sinners: but wisdom is justified of her children.
11:20 Then Jesus began to say reproof to cities, in which full many virtues of him were done, for they did not penance. Then began he to upbraid the cities, in which most of his miracles were done, because they did not repent. Then began he to upbraid the cities, wherein most of his great works were done, because they repented not. Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not.
11:21 Woe to thee! Chorazin, woe to thee! Bethsaida; for if the virtues that be done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, sometime they had done penance in haircloth and ashes. Woe be to thee Chorasin. Woe be to thee Betzaida: for if the miracles which were shewed in you had been done in tyre and in sidon they had repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. Woe be to thee, Chorazin: Woe be to thee, Bethsaida: for if the great works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyrus & Sidon, they had repented long agone in sackcloth and ashes. Woe unto thee Chorazin, woe unto thee Bethsaida: for if the mighty works which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
11:22 Nevertheless I say to you, it shall be less pain to Tyre and Sidon in the day of doom, than to you. Nevertheless I say to you: it shall be easier for Tyre & Sidon, at the day of judgment, than for you. But I say to you, It shall be easier for Tyrus and Sidon at the day of judgement, than for you. But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgement, than for you.
11:23 And thou, Capernaum, whether till into heaven thou shalt be reared up? Thou shalt go down till into hell. For if the virtues that be done in thee, had been done in Sodom, peradventure they should have dwelled till unto this day. And thou Capernaum which art lift up unto heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell. for if the miracles which have been done in thee, had been shewed in Zodom: they had remained to this day. And thou, Capernaum, which art lifted up unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the great works, which have been done in thee, had been done among them of Sodom, they had remained to this day. And thou Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: For if the mighty works which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
11:24 Nevertheless I say to you, that to the land of Sodom it shall be less pain in the day of doom, than to thee. Nevertheless I say unto you: it shall be easier for Zodom in the day of judgement, than for thee. But I say unto you, that it shall be easier for them of the land of Sodom in the day of judgement, than for thee. But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom, in the day of judgment, than for thee.
11:25 In that time, Jesus answering said, I acknowledge to thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for thou hast hid these things from wise men and prudent, and hast shewed them to little children; Then Jesus answered and said I praise thee o father lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent. and hast opened them unto babes, At that time Jesus answered, and said, I give thee thanks, o Father, Lord of heaven & earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and men of understanding, and hast opened them unto babes. At that time Jesus answered, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise & prudent, & hast revealed them unto babes.
11:26 so, Father, for so it was pleasing before thee. even so father for so it pleased thee. It is so, o Father, because thy good pleasure was such. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in thy sight.
11:27 All things be taken to me of my Father; and no man knoweth the Son, no but the Father, neither any man knoweth the Father, no but the Son, and to whom the Son will shew. All things are given unto me of my father. And no man knoweth the son, but the father. neither knoweth any man the father, save the son, and he to whom the son will open him. All things are given unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father: neither knoweth any man the Father, but the Son, & he to whom the Son will reveal him. All things are delivered unto me of my father: and no man knoweth the son but the father: neither knoweth any man the father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the son will reveal him.
11:28 All ye that travail, and be charged, come to me, and I shall refresh you. Come unto me all ye that labour, and are laden, & I will ease you. Come unto me, all ye that are weary & laden, and I will ease you. Come unto me all ye that labour, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
11:29 Take ye my yoke upon you, and learn ye of me, for I am mild and meek in heart; and ye shall find rest to your souls. Take my yoke on you & learn of me for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find ease unto your souls. Take my yoke on you, and learn of me, that I am meek and lowly in heart: & ye shall find rest unto your souls. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
11:30 For my yoke is soft, and my charge light. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
