15:1 Then scribes and Pharises came nigh to him from Jerusalem, saying, Then came to Jesus: scribes and pharises from Jerusalem, saying: Then came to Jesus the Scribes and Pharises, which were of Jerusalem, saying, Then came to Jesus Scribes and Pharisees, which were of Hierusalem, saying,
15:2 Why thy disciples break the traditions of elder men? for they wash not their hands, when they eat bread. why do thy disciples transgress the traditions of the seniours? for they wash not their hands, when they eat bread? Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the Elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the Elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
15:3 He answered, and said to them, Why also break ye the commandment of God for your tradition? He answered, and said unto them: why do ye also transgress the commandment of god, through your traditions? But he answered & said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? But he answered, and said unto them, Why do you also transgress the Commandment of God by your tradition?
15:4 For God said, Honour thy father and mother, and he that curseth father or mother, die he by death. for god commanded, saying: honour thy father and mother, and he that speaketh evil against his father or mother, shall suffer death. For God hath commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and he that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: And he that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
15:5 But ye say, Whoever shall say to the father or mother, Whatever gift is of me, it shall profit to thee; But ye say, every man shall say to his father or mother: whatsoever thing I offer, that same doth profit thee, But ye say, Whosoever shall say to father or mother, By the gift that is offered by me, thou mayest have profit, But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me,
15:6 and he shall not honour his father either mother; and ye have made the commandment of God void for your tradition. and so shall he not honour his father and mother. And thus have ye made, that the commandment of god is without effect, through your traditions. Though he honour not his father, or his mother, shall be free: thus have ye made the commandment of God of no authority by your tradition. And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the Commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
15:7 Hypocrites, Esaias, the prophet, prophesied well of you, saying, Hypocrites well prophesied of you, Esay saying: O hypocrites, Esaias prophesied well of you, saying, Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
15:8 This people honoureth me with lips, but their heart is far from me; This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouths, and honoureth me with their lips, yet their hearts are far from me: This people draweth near unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with the lips, but their heart is far off from me. This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips: but their heart is far from me.
15:9 truly they worship me without cause, teaching the doctrines and the commandments of men. but in vain they worship me teaching doctrine, which is nothing but men’s precepts. But in vain they worship me, teaching for doctrines, men’s precepts. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines, the commandments of men.
15:10 And the companies called together to him, he said to them, Hear, and understand. And he called the people unto him, and said to them: hear and understand. Then he called the multitude unto him, and said to them, Hear and understand. And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear and understand.
15:11 Not that thing that entereth into the mouth, defouleth a man; but that thing that cometh out of the mouth, defouleth a man. That which goeth into the mouth, defileth not a man: but that which cometh out of the mouth, defileth the man. That which goeth into the mouth, defileth not the man, but that which cometh out of the mouth, that defileth the man. Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man: but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
15:12 Then his disciples coming nigh said to him, Knowest thou, that, this word heard, Pharises be offended? Then came his disciples, and said unto him: perceivest thou, how that the pharises are offended hearing this saying? Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Perceivest thou not, that the Pharises are offended in hearing this saying? Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended after they heard this saying?
15:13 And he answered, and said, Every planting, which my Father of heaven hath not planted, shall be drawn up by the root. He answered, and said: all plants which my heavenly father hath not planted, shall be plucked up by the roots. But he answered & said, Every plant which mine heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. But he answered, and said, Every plant which my heavenly father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
15:14 Suffer ye them; they be blind, and leaders of blind men. And if a blind man lead a blind man, both fall down into the ditch. Let them alone, they be the blind leaders of the blind. If the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. Let them alone: they be the blind leaders of the blind: & if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
15:15 Peter answered, and said to him, Expound to us this parable. Then answered Peter and said to him: declare unto us this parable. Then answered Peter, and said to him, Declare unto us this parable. Then answered Peter, and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.
15:16 And he said, Yet also ye be without understanding? Then said Jesus: are ye yet without understanding? Then said Jesus, Are ye yet without understanding! And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
15:17 Understand ye not, that all things that entereth into the mouth, goeth into the womb, and is sent out into the going away? perceive ye not, that whatsoever goeth in at the mouth, descendeth down into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? Perceive ye not yet, that whatsoever entereth into the mouth, goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth, goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
15:18 But those things that come forth from the mouth, go out of the heart, and those things defoul the man. But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. But those things which proceed out of the mouth, come from the heart, and they defile the man. But those things which proceed out of the mouth, come forth from the heart, and they defile the man.
15:19 For out of the heart cometh evil thoughts, manslayings, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witnessings, blasphemies. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, breaking of wedlock, whoredom, theft, false witness-bearing, blasphemy. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, slanders. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.
15:20 These things it be that defoul a man; soothly for to eat with hands unwashen, defouleth not a man. These are the things which defile a man. But to eat with unwashen hands, defileth not a man. These are the things, which defile the man: but to eat with unwashen hands, defileth not the man. These are the things which defile a man: But to eat with unwashen hands, defileth not a man.
15:21 And Jesus went out from thence, and went into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. And Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of tyre and sidon. And Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyrus and Sidon. Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
15:22 And lo! a woman of Canaan went out of those coasts, and cried, saying to him, Lord, the son of David, have mercy on me; my daughter is evil travailed of a devil. And behold a woman which was a canaanite came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying: have mercy on me lord the son of David, my daughter is piteously vexed with a devil. And behold, a woman a Canaanite came out of the same coasts, and cried, saying unto him, Have mercy on me, o Lord, the son of David: my daughter is miserably vexed with a devil. And behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, & cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David, my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
15:23 And he answered not to her a word. And his disciples coming to, prayed him, saying, Leave thou her, for she crieth after us. And he gave her never a word to answer. Then came to him his disciples, and besought him saying: send her away, for she followeth us crying. But he answered her not a word. Then came to him his disciples, and besought him, saying, Send her away, for she crieth after us. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came, and besought him, saying, Send her away, for she crieth after us.
15:24 Forsooth he answering saith, I am not sent, no but to the sheep of the house of Israel that perished. He answered, and said: I am not sent, but unto the lost sheep of the house of israhel. But he answered, and said, I am not sent, but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. But he answered, and said, I am not sent, but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
15:25 But she came, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. Then she came and worshipped him, saying: master succor me: Yet she came & worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. Then came she, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
15:26 Which answered, and said, It is not good to take the bread of children, and cast it to hounds. He answered and said: it is not good, to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to whelps. And he answered, & said, It is not good to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to whelps. But he answered, and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.
15:27 And she said, Yes, Lord; for the whelps eat of the crumbs, that fall down from the board of their lords’. She answered and said: it is truth, nevertheless the whelps eat of the crumbs, which fall from their masters’ table. But she said, Truth, Lord: yet indeed the whelps eat of the crumbs, which fall from their masters’ table. And she said, Truth Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.
15:28 Then Jesus answered, and said to her, O! thou woman, thy faith is great; be it done to thee, as thou wilt. And her daughter was healed from that hour. Then Jesus answered and said unto her. O woman great is thy faith, be it to thee, even as thou desirest. And her daughter was made whole even at that same time. Then Jesus answered, and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it to thee, as thou desirest. And her daughter was made whole at that hour. Then Jesus answered, and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
15:29 And when Jesus had passed from thence, he came beside the sea of Galile. And he went up into an hill, and sat there. Then Jesus went away from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of galile, and went up into a mountain, and sat down there. So Jesus went away from thence, and came near unto the sea of Galile, & went up into a mountain and sat down there. And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee, and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.
15:30 And many companies came nigh to him, having with them dumb men and crooked men, feeble and blind, and many others; and they cast them down at his feet. And he healed them, And much people came unto him having with them, halt, blind, dumb, maimed, and other many: and cast them down at Jesus’ feet. And he healed them, And great multitudes came unto him, having with them, halt, blind, dumb, maimed and many other, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet, and he healed them, And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet, and he healed them:
15:31 so that the companies wondered, seeing dumb men speaking, and crooked men going, blind men seeing; and they magnified God of Israel. insomuch that the people wondered, to see the dumb speak, the maimed whole, the halt to go, and the blind to see. and they glorified the god of israhel. Insomuch that the multitude wondered, to see the dumb speak, the maimed whole, the halt to go, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel. Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
15:32 Forsooth Jesus said to his disciples called together, I have ruth of the company, for now three days they dwell still with me, and they have nothing that they shall eat; and I will not leave them fasting, lest they fail in the way. Jesus called his disciples to him and said: I have compassion on the people, because they have continued with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not let them depart fasting, lest they perish in the way. Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on this multitude, because they have continued with me already three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not let them depart fasting, lest they faint in the way. Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.
15:33 And the disciples say to him, Whereof then so many loaves among us in desert, that we fill so great a company? and his disciples said unto him: whence should we get so much bread in the wilderness, as should suffice so great a multitude? And his disciples said unto him, Whence should we get so much bread in the wilderness, as should suffice so great a multitude! And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?
15:34 And Jesus saith to them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes. and Jesus said unto them: how many loaves have ye? and they said: seven and a few fishes. And Jesus said unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes. And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.
15:35 And he commanded the company, that they should sit to the meat on the earth. And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground. Then he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground, And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.
15:36 And he took the seven loaves and five fishes, and did thankings, and brake, and gave to his disciples; and the disciples gave to the people. And took the seven loaves, and the fishes and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and his disciples gave them to the people. And took the seven loaves, and the fishes, and gave thanks, & brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
15:37 And all ate, and were filled, and they took that that was over of the reliefs, seven baskets full. And they all ate, and were sufficed. And they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full. And they did all eat, and were sufficed: & they took up of the fragments that remained, seven baskets full. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left, seven baskets full.
15:38 And they that ate were four thousand of men, without little children and women. They that ate were four thousand men, beside women and children. And they that had eaten, were four thousand men, beside women, and little children. And they that did eat, were four thousand men, beside women and children.
15:39 And, the company left, he went up into a boat, and came into the coasts of Magdala. And he sent away the people, and took ship and came into the parts of Magdala: Then Jesus sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the parts of Magdala. And he sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala.
