16:1 And Pharises and Sadduces tempting him came nigh to him, and prayed him to shew them a token from heaven. Then came to him the pharises with the saduces also, and did tempt him, desiring that he would shew them some sign from heaven. Then came the Pharises and Sadduces, and did tempt him, desiring him to shew them a sign from heaven. The Pharises also, with the Sadduces, came, and tempting, desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven.
16:2 And he answering said to them, The evening made, ye say, It shall be clear, for the heaven is red; He answered and said unto them: At even ye say, we shall have fair weather, and that because the sky is red: But he answered, and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, Fair weather: for the sky is red. He answered, and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.
16:3 and the morrow, Made today tempest, for heaven shineth heavily. Then ye know how to deem wisely the face of heaven, but ye be not able to know the signs of times. in the morning: ye say, today shall be foul weather, and that because the sky is tremulous and red. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the fashion of the sky: and can ye not discern the signs of the times? And in the morning ye say, Today shall be a tempest: for the sky is red and lowring. O hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky, and can ye not discern the signs of the times? And in the morning, It will be foul weather today: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky, but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
16:4 An evil generation and adulterous seeketh a token; and a token shall not be given to it, but the token of Jonas, the prophet. And when he had left them, he went away. The froward nation, and advoutrous, seeketh a sign, there shall none other sign be given unto them, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. So left he them and departed. The wicked generation, and adulterous seeketh a sign, and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of the Prophet Jonas: so he left them, and departed. A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign, and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the Prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.
16:5 And when his disciples came over the sea, they forgot to take loaves. And when his disciples were come to the other side of the water, they had forgotten to take bread with them. And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread with them. And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.
16:6 And he said to them, Behold ye, and beware of the sourdough of Pharises and of Sadduces. Then Jesus said unto them: Take heed and beware of the leaven of the pharises, and of the saduces. Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharises and Sadduces. Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharises, and of the Sadduces.
16:7 And they thought among themselves, and said saying, For we have not taken loaves. They thought among themselves saying: we have brought no bread with us. And they thought in themselves, saying, It is because we have brought no bread. And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.
16:8 But Jesus witting said to them, What think ye among you of little faith, for ye have not taken loaves? When Jesus understood that, he said unto them. O ye of little faith, why are your minds cumbered because ye have brought no bread? But Jesus knowing it, said unto them, O ye of little faith, why think you thus in yourselves, because ye have brought no bread? Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
16:9 Yet ye understand not, neither have mind of five loaves into five thousand of men, and how many coffins ye took? Do ye not yet perceive, neither remember those five loaves when there were five thousand men, and how many baskets took ye up? Do ye not yet perceive, neither remember the five loaves, when there were five thousand men, and how many baskets took ye up? Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
16:10 neither of seven loaves into four thousand of men, and how many baskets ye took? Neither the seven loaves, when there were four thousand: and how many baskets took ye up? Neither the seven loaves when there were four thousand men, and how many baskets took ye up? Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
16:11 Why understand ye not, for I said not to you of bread, Be ye ware of the sourdough of Pharises and of Sadduces? Why perceive ye not then, that I spake not unto you of bread, when I said: beware of the leaven of the pharises and of the saduces? Why perceive ye not that I said not unto you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharises & Sadduces? How is it that ye do not understand, that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharises, and of the Sadduces?
16:12 Then they understood, that he said not to beware of the sourdough of loaves, but of the teaching of Pharises and of Sadduces. Then understood they, how that he bade not them beware of the leaven of bread: but of the doctrine of the pharises, and of the saduces. Then understood they that he had not said that they should beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharises, and Sadduces. Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread: but of the doctrine of the Pharisees, and of the Sadduces.
16:13 And Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea of Philippi, and asked his disciples, saying, Whom say men to be man’s Son? When Jesus came into the coasts of the city which is called cesarea philippi, he asked his disciples saying: whom do men say that I the son of man am? Now when Jesus came into the coasts of Cesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I, the Son of man am? When Jesus came into the coasts of Cesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say, that I, the son of man, am?
16:14 And they said, Some John Baptist; others Elias; and others Jeremy, or one of the prophets. They said, some say that thou art Jhon baptist, some Helias, some Jeremias, or one of the prophets. And they said, Some say, John Baptist: and some, Elias: & others, Jeremias, or one of the Prophets. And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist, some Elias, and others Jeremias, or one of the Prophets.

16:16 Simon Peter answered, and said, Thou art Christ, the Son of quick God. Simon Peter answered, and said: Thou art Christ the son of the living god. Then Simon Peter answered, and said, Thou art the Christ the Son of the living God. And Simon Peter answered, and said, Thou art Christ the son of the living God.
16:17 Forsooth Jesus answered, and said to him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona; for flesh and blood shewed not to thee, but my Father that is in heavens. And Jesus answered and said to him: happy art thou Simon the son of Jonas, for flesh and blood have not opened unto thee that, but my father which is in heaven. And Jesus answered, & said to him, Blessed art thou, Simon, the son of Jonas: for flesh & blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And Jesus answered, and said unto him, Blessed art thou Simon Bar Jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
16:18 And I say to thee, for thou art Peter, and upon this stone I shall build my church, and the gates of hell shall not have might against it. And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter. And upon this rock I will build my congregation. And the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church: and the gates of hell shall not overcome it. And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church: and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
16:19 And to thee I shall give the keys of the kingdom of heavens; and whatever thou shalt bind on earth, shall be bound also in heavens; and whatever thou shalt unbind on earth, shall be unbound also in heavens. And I will give unto thee, the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatsoever thou bindest upon earth, it shall be bound in heaven. and whatsoever thou loosest on earth, it shall be loosed in heaven. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth, shall be loosed in heaven. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven: whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth, shall be loosed in heaven.
16:20 Then he commanded to his disciples, that they should say to no man, that he was Jesus Christ. Then he charged his disciples, that they should tell no man, that he was Jesus Christ. Then he charged his disciples, that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ. Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.
16:21 From that time Jesus began to shew to his disciples, that it behooved him to go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things, of the elders, and scribes, and princes of priests; and be slain, and the third day to rise again. From that time forth, Jesus began to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the seniors, and of the high priests, and of the scribes, and must be killed, and rise again the third day. From that time forth Jesus began to shew unto his disciples, that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the Elders, and of the high Priests, and Scribes, and be slain, and rise again the third day. From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Hierusalem, and suffer many things of the Elders and chief Priests & Scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
16:22 And Peter took him, and began to blame him, saying, Far be it from thee, Lord; this shall not be to thee. Peter took him aside, and began to rebuke him saying: master favour thyself, this shall not come unto thee. Then Peter took him aside, and began to rebuke him, saying, Master, pity thyself: this shall not be unto thee. Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee Lord: This shall not be unto thee.
16:23 The which, turned, said to Peter, Satan, go after me; thou art (an) offence to me; for thou savourest not those things that be of God, but those things that be of men. Then turned he about, and said unto Peter: go after me Satan, thou offendest me, because thou perceivest not godly things: but worldly things. Then he turned back, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me, because thou understandest not the things that are of God, but the things that are of men. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan, thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
16:24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, If any man will come after me, deny he himself, and take his cross, and follow me; Jesus then said to his disciples. If any man will follow me, let him forsake himself, and take his cross and follow me. Jesus then said to his disciples, If any man will follow me, let him forsake himself: & take up his cross, and follow me. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
16:25 for he that will make his life safe, shall lose it; and he that shall lose his life for me, shall find it. For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it. And whosoever shall lose his life for my sake, shall find it. For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose his life for my sake, shall find it. For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake, shall find it.
16:26 Soothly what profiteth to a man, if he win all the world, and suffer impairing of his soul? or what changing shall a man give for his soul? What shall it profit a man, if he should win all the whole world: so he lose his own soul? Or else what shall a man give to redeem his soul again withal? For what shall it profit a man though he should win the whole world, if he lose his own soul? or what shall a man give for recompense of his soul? For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
16:27 For man’s Son shall come in the glory of his Father, with his angels, and then he shall yield to every man after his works. For the son of man shall come in the glory of his father, with his angels, and then shall he reward every man according to his deeds. For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his Angels, and then shall he give to every man according to his deeds. For the son of man shall come in the glory of his father, with his Angels: and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
16:28 Truly I say to you, there be some of men standing here, which shall not taste death, till they see man’s Son coming in his kingdom. Verily I say unto you, some there be among them that here stand, which shall not taste of death, till they shall have seen the son of man come in his kingdom. Verily I say unto you, there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the Son of man come in his kingdom. Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his Kingdom.
